Seventh of eleven children, Kathy Johnson was born and raised in a country setting in Estill, South Carolina, to the parents of Maybel Sanders Brooks and the late Marion Brooks.

At the age of six, Kathy was baptized, but never grew to understand, nor live in a relationship with Christ. It was not until after marriage, at the age of 27, that she made the most important decision of her life; she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Life for Kathy has never been the same. She eagerly served in numerous capacities in the church: from cleaning to teaching; missions to evangelism; home visits to nursing homes; working with children and youth to adults; her desire to serve God was unyielding. Kathy developed a profound love for the Word of God, for truth and for righteousness.

In 1993, Pastor Kathy surrendered to the call into ministry and was licensed as a Preacher. In 1996, she was ordained and served as an Associate Pastor for five years in a Southern Baptist church. Then God spoke again and said, “start a ministry”. Again, she obediently answered the call to the pastorate, and in 1999, beginning in her home with just she and her family, God birthed through her, Shekinah Glory Fellowship; later named Greater Shekinah Glory. As founder, Pastor Kathy has never wavered from the charge placed on her life. In a vision God spoke to her from First Corinthians 9:16, “for if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel.” Ministry for Pastor Kathy means moving beyond the local to the global; touching mankind where they hurt; and facilitating others in reaching their utmost potential and living victoriously.

In May 2010, Pastor Kathy was elevated and consecrated as an Apostle. Soon after, she called other Apostles together to form a Network called, “The Apostles Gathering” (TAG), designed to equip the Saints. Apostle Kathy serves as Senior Apostle.

Kathy is married to retired school Administrator, Richard Johnson. They are proud parents of a daughter and two sons; three grandsons and three granddaughters (with more to come….).

Her life verse is Galatians 2:20, I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Her original life quote is, “There are no limitations placed on me except what I place on myself.”
